Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
1.1This accessibility statement is issued by STARECOM ("we", "us"), the operator of starecom.net and the provider of the services described on it.
1.2We want everyone to be able to read this site and get in touch with us, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
1.3We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This statement records honestly where we currently stand against that target, including where we fall short.
1.4Accessibility is also part of what we sell: it is a standard on every interface we build, including the digital commerce platforms described at /solutions.
What has been implemented
2.1Structure. Every page has one h1, a logical heading order, and proper landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer). A "Skip to content" link is the first thing in the tab order.
2.2Keyboard. Everything interactive can be reached and operated by keyboard alone, including the mobile menu, the FAQ, the cookie panel and the animated diagram on the home page. Focus is never trapped, and Escape closes the menu and the cookie panel.
2.3Focus visibility. Every focusable element has a visible focus ring in the brand accent colour with an offset, on both light and dark backgrounds. Focus styling is never removed.
2.4Contrast. Body and interface text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 ratio required at Level AA, and large text meets 3:1. Colour is never the only means of conveying information.
2.5Motion. The site honours prefers-reduced-motion. With it enabled, the travelling signal in the home page diagram is removed entirely, scroll reveals are disabled, and image wipes are switched off. The diagram remains fully usable.
2.6Images. Every content image carries meaningful alternative text; decorative images carry an empty alt so screen readers skip them. Every image has explicit dimensions, so the page does not shift as it loads.
2.7Forms. Every field has a visible, permanently associated label. Errors are announced in text next to the field, marked with aria-invalid, and never signalled by colour alone.
2.8Zoom and reflow. Content reflows to a single column and remains usable at 320px width and at 200% zoom, without horizontal scrolling.
2.9Without JavaScript. The site is readable and navigable with JavaScript disabled, and the contact form still submits as a standard form post.
2.10Documents. Every legal document has a clause index, deep-linkable clause anchors, and a print stylesheet that produces a clean A4 document.
Known limitations
3.1We would rather list these than claim full conformance:
- The illustrative event log on the home page and the AI page animates its rows into view. It carries a descriptive
role="img"label and is labelled as illustrative; the animation is disabled when your system asks for reduced motion. - Wide data tables in the legal documents scroll horizontally inside their own container on small screens. The container is keyboard scrollable, but this is not ideal.
- Formal audit. This statement is based on our own testing, not on an independent third-party audit or a full assistive-technology test matrix.
3.2None of these prevents access to information or to the ability to contact us.
How this was assessed
4.1By self-evaluation: manual keyboard-only testing, inspection of the rendered markup for heading order, landmarks, labels and alternative text, contrast checks of every text and background pairing in the palette, testing with reduced motion and with JavaScript disabled, and layout testing at 320px, 768px and 1440px and at 200% zoom.
4.2This statement was prepared on 2026-09-07 and is reviewed whenever the site changes materially, and at least annually.
Telling us about a problem
5.1If you cannot access something on this site, or an assistive technology does not work with it, please tell us — it is the fastest way for us to find out.
5.2Email with "Accessibility" in the subject line. It helps if you can say what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what browser and assistive technology you were using.
5.3We acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and will tell you what we intend to do and by when. Where a fix is straightforward we aim to ship it within 15 business days.
5.4If you need information from this site in another format — a document as plain text or large print, for example — ask and we will provide it at no charge.
5.5If you are not satisfied with our response, use the Complaints & Dispute Resolution procedure, which sets out the escalation route to the operator's director.
